1. Allegheny Springs at the Omni Homestead Resort, Hot Springs, Virginia
Dating back to 1766, this sprawling, historic resort features the best hot springs in that part of the country. The spring-fed, mineral-rich pool is a peaceful oasis for adults with luxurious private cabanas and the option of a personal attendant, but it also has a kid-friendly water park.
2. Breitenbush Hot Springs, Detroit, Oregon
This serene and secluded retreat is the epitome of serenity. Tucked into Mount Hood National Park a couple of hours from Portland, Breitenbush is clothing-optional and open to day visitors and overnight guests. It features multiple natural stone pool soaking areas that become incrementally warmer. It also has a steam sauna completely heated by geothermal water.
3. Burgdorf Hot Springs, Idaho
During winter months, guest must arrive by snowmobile. The pools are hot, and the cabins are rustic — you’ll have to bring your own bedding.
4. Chena Hot Springs, Alaska
Whether you go in the spring for the natural scenery or the winter to witness the Aurora Borealis, this resort offers unique and breathtaking way to experience hot springs. It’s locate about 60 miles outside of Fairbanks.
5. Conundrum Hot Springs, Colorado
Located at the end of an 8.5-mile hike, the warm mineral soak at the end of the trek is worth it. Although a day trip is possible, it’s best to camp overnight near the springs.

Just a few hours from Yellowstone National Park, this is a free bath house with indoor and outdoor soaking pools fed from the surrounding mineral hot springs. They are the perfect way to soothe your muscles after hiking the6.2 miles of available trails that showcase interesting geological features.

This is a great family-friendly spot with a water park, kiddie pool and crazy-fast water slides. But the real draw is the luxurious 20,000-gallon pool filled with water from the geothermal mountain springs.

Enjoy the laid-back leisure of hot springs in this small city known for its spas. Young children are not permitted at this retreat that contains communal geothermal pools and private soaking tubs. Make an hourly reservation or stay overnight.

With a unique rustic and European style, these therapeutic waters provide a serene Alpine escape. Check out the outdoor pool, private soaking tub, and a vapor cave hidden beneath mountain rock.
