6 Timeless Haircuts

Some hair trends fizzle out fast, while others stand the test of time. If you want a cut that never looks dated and gives you a guaranteed good hair day for years to come, we know the classic haircuts that won’t disappoint.

The Pixie

Whether you like the look tousled, perfectly smooth or punk rock, the pixie is as chic and timeless as it versatile. Think elegant Audrey Hepburn and Mia Farrow… or Halle Berry and Michelle Williams. By playing with different textures, you can create endless styling possibilities. Longer layers on top are great for creating an elegant style, a piecey look or stacked volume for a bolder look.

Bangs

Bangs can be controversial — and the big bangs of the 80s are certainly NOT a classic look we want to replicate — but full, blunt bangs or soft, side-swept bangs are a style we keep coming back to and that some women can rock for years. They are also an easy way to look stylish, no matter your hair type or length.

Long, Soft Layers

The number one word we hear from those sitting in the salon chair is layers! Long, tapered layers are universally flattering for defined volume and style flexibility. Soft layers give your ends a slight, natural curl, and once you set the look in the morning, it remains fuss-free all day. To add movement to longer hair, try choppy layers tapered a few inches from the bottom of the hair. For shorter hair, we like the look of just a few soft layers — rather than the more severely layered “Rachel” cut from the 90s

The Bob

A classic bob is hard to beat. This easy MVP haircut has been a favorite for years, especially when it’s sleek, precise and kept simple with minimal layers. A bob looks great with or without bangs. An angled bob — stacked in the back and angled in the front toward the face — is also incredibly flattering on most women.

Blunt Lob

The long bob is a newer style with a trendy nickname (the Lob!), but it’s destined to be a classic. It looks great on almost everyone. It grows out gracefully. And with its sleek texture and face-framing shape, it looks chic, modern and fresh.

Naturally Curly Hair

If your natural hair means voluminous ringlets, you’re in luck! This classic look is best when it’s defined with plenty of layers and good hair products. It looks modern with good volume, extra curl definition and a high-gloss shine.
