Best Hairstyles to Go With Your Cowgirl Boots

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is here. And whether your attending the Barbecue Cook-off, walking around the fairgrounds or staying late for the rodeo and a concert, you want to look your best. But what hairstyle go best with boots? Consider some of these easy looks.

Pig Tails

Whether your braid them, curl them or let them hang long and straight, pig tails are a perfect country-inspired look. Part your hair down the middle, and smooth out fly-away baby hairs without slicking on too much product. For a true cowgirl look, you don’t want these piggies to be overly polished and perfect.

Curled Pony

Cowgirls love a good pony, especially since you don’t want strands in your face while you’re watching the bucking bulls (or scoping out a hot cowboy). Use backcombing and product at your roots to add some volume in your crown as you pull back your tresses. Then curl the ends of your ponytail for an easy and simple look.

Big Hair

The ladies of Steel Magnolias knew what they were talking about when they said, “The bigger the hair, the closer to God.” There are no hard or fast rules when it comes to big hair… whether you get a smooth blowout or create big curls, big hair and boots always pair well together.

Side Braid

Braids are always a chic and gorgeous way to show off longer hair, and a side braid works great with a cowboy hat. Whether you do a fishtail, Dutch braid, French braid, bubble braid or Bohemian style, a single side braid is a great look for the rodeo.

Messy, Curly Topknot

If you don’t plan to wear a hat, pile your hair on top of your head instead. This style works great for girls with longer, naturally curly hair. Use a sock bun for more volume. And similar to the other styles we mention, your don’t want your hair too slicked down in front — your aiming for smooth but full of volume.

Half-Up Waves

If you want to look like a cowgirl but feel like a mermaid, a half-up/half-down style with long loose waves is the way to go. The style looks great from all directions, and going half-up keeps the hair out of your face.

Lots of Layers

Show off a wild or carefree attitude with long, shaggy layers. With or without bangs, this cut will frame your face while also playing with texture and volume. If you prefer a shaggy bob, have your hair angled forward at the front.
